Butler to start

by Uncategorized

The Buffalo Bills announced on Sunday that Brad Butler would be the starter at right guard.  The move is a mild surprise because Butler missed three out of four preseason games and spent most of training camp injured.  Duke Preston did not play well in the preseason and Jason Whittle has been a career backup so the move makes sense.

In an move that was expected the Bills announced that Paul Posluzsny will be the starting middle linebacker.  A move that was expected by most Bills fans anyway.  Posluzsny has been solid in the preseason and I expect that he will continue to improve as the season progresses.  Posluzsny is a key to this defense not only this season but in the future as well.

Keith Ellison has been seen walking on crutches after suffering a high ankle sprain.  All football fans are well aware of the dreaded high ankle sprain.  Ellison will miss a significant amount of time.  He will be replaced in the lineup by Coy Wire who has made a fast transition from safety to linebacker.  Wire was a player who I never really liked on defense but he has impressed me in the preseason.  I will be interested to see how he performs in the regular season.
