The Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions are preparing for the most meaningless game of the entire season. I am sure both teams have just two main goals… Stay healthy and try to figure out who will the 50th, 51st, 52nd and 53rd player on the roster. For those guys it seems to be an important game…hardly because those will be the guys announced as inactive every week.
The Bills have announced that the starters will see a brief appearance in the game before they start looking towards September 9th and the home opener against the Denver Broncos. Is it too early to start talking about that game? I’m ready, let’s get this game tomorrow over with and move on to the real football.
This begs the question…Is the Preseason too long? Should tehy change the format to a 2-3 week preseason and 18 week regular season? I think it’s time. Hey Roger instead of coming in and flexing your muscles and suspending all these guys (that make you money) do something good for the fans and change the format to an 18 game regular season. If Goodell truly wants to make his mark on the game he should be known as the guy who brought an 18 game schedule to the NFL and not as the NFL Dictator.
